After the 8th day in a row of gorgeous, t-shirt and shorts 80 degree weather, we decided to really get celebrating by going out to Sauvie Island (surprise surprise) and gather a few tomatoes. The farmer said they weren't quite ripe, but we strolled and searched anyway. Much to our delight, there were a few hidden red gems, and pluck them we did. The smell of the hot earth and the tomato vines was intoxicating. Summer at it's tail end . . . We then basked in a field of sunflowers, with heads so big, even the bumble bees seemed to get lost.
