WE'LL ALWAYS HAVE DUBROVNIK

(columns outside the old city hall in Dubrovnik, still in use today)
(the view from above a high-point on the wall was amazing. It really made me realize how small the Old City was...)

(nuzzling kitties and blooming camelias)
Dubrovnik, Croatia is a medieval city with remarkably-intact city walls, red roofs, limestone everything, churches, hard goat cheese, candied orange peels and beautiful people. There are no cars within the old-city which enables the wandering visitor to go back in time . . . It was sad to know this stunning place was caught up in a war so recent (1991-95), you'd think that country's could respect the historical significance of such a landmark. Luckily, Dubrovnik survives in all its original 15th-16th century splendor.
The clear green blue of the Adriatic Sea, surrounding small islands and the walks on top of the walls (allowing for a unique view) made this a place I'd love to come back to. My parents, Dave and I had a great good-bye dinner and we left on our separate planes as I cried like a baby.
